This picnic mat is made with a three‑layer construction. The top layer is printed fleece – soft and comfortable against your skin. The middle layer is sponge foam – it adds a bit of cushioning between you and the ground. The bottom layer is aluminum foil – it blocks moisture from the grass or soil beneath, so you stay dry even on damp ground.
What does the aluminum foil bottom do? It acts as a barrier against ground moisture. If the grass is slightly wet from morning dew or a recent rain, you can still lay the mat down without worrying about dampness seeping through. It handles typical outdoor dampness well.
